Youth Opportunity Agenda: Robbing Americans of Responsibility

Last week Hillary's campaign released her "Youth Opportunity Agenda" which claims to address the "silent crisis of disconnected youth." This plan focuses mainly on minorities, or as she likes to call them "at risk" youth. She begins by saying that we need to close the Early Achievement Gap. To do this, she will invest $10 billion of taxpayers money into Universal Preschool, which is where she thinks the problems with education and getting a decent job begin. She next wants to give $100 million to expand mentoring and support programs during the summer for at risk middle- and high-school students. Which is just another way of relieving parents of their parental responsibilities.

She will also extinguish racial and sex discrimination in the labor market by restoring the Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division to its "historic role that vigorously enforces people's civil rights." The term "vigorously enforce" is a bit frightening, leaving employers with no right to hire who they want to hire. Without any say so in their investment, why would anyone actually want to own or run a business?

Another factor in the plan to suppress this "silent crisis" is to reward responsible fatherhood, or give financial incentives to fathers who actually pay their child support. But there is no mention of rewarding fathers who actually raise their children, who emotionally and financially support their family day in and day out. Sen. Clinton's final phase of this Youth Opportunity Agenda is to "close the prison revolving door." In this she will give $200 million to programs aimed at reintegrating the offenders into the economy and society.

As the new Clinton government expands, there will be absolutely no personal responsibility and no consequences, and minorities will be given highest priority. As these youths targeted by Hillary's plan grow older they will be even less accountable adults having never had to work or put forth any real effort to achieve anything. This Agenda will destroy whatever is left of respect, responsibility, pride and ethics in this country.

Pumping Pre-K

On the trail, Hillary has been pumping her "Universal Pre-K" at any given opportunity, but is it really "school" or is it just day-care? This plan would will include "universal access to high quality pre-K for four year olds in five years through a federal-state partnership. Her proposal also provides flexibility to allow states to serve younger children once they have provided pre-K to all four year olds who need it."

First of all, she cannot guarantee a "high-quality pre-kindergarten program" until she can improve our K-12 system. I also find this a little alarming in the sense that this could take over a parent's job of raising their child. Yes, in the beginning this would be a voluntary service, but there is no volunteer under a control-freak, only appointment. Sure, this may be fine with some parents, but not me. I consider it my duty and privilege to teach my children. It is part of bearing and raising them. I don't trust anyone else to do it at this point in time.

This just sounds like another anti-family blow from the left.

Universal Preschool

Sure, let's have taxpayers pay for even more childcare and mediocre education. If Clinton is attempting to improve our society scholastically, perhaps she should focus on improving the system we have through school choice and encouraging the decent educators we have, instead of expanding the deteriorating system so few are satisfied with.
